The average import price for steel, stainless; cold-drawn or cold-rolled, tubes and pipes of circular cross-sectia stood at $37,371 per ton in September 2022, reducing by -17.1% against the previous month. In general, import price indicated a prominent expansion from June 2022 to September 2022: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +8.8% over the last three-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on September 2022 figures, import price for steel, stainless; cold-drawn or cold-rolled, tubes and pipes of circular cross-sectia increased by +28.9% against June 2022 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in August 2022 when the average import price increased by 36% month-to-month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $45,082 per ton, and then declined markedly in the following month.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In September 2022, the country with the highest price was the United States ($193K per ton), while the price for South Korea ($2,924 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to September 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Thailand (+41.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Overall, the export price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when the average export price increased by 108% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $17,003 per ton, and then shrank dramatically in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was China ($59,041 per ton), while the average price for exports to Sri Lanka ($1,856 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Thailand (+12.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
