In December 2021, the average manganese dioxide import price amounted to $1,840 per ton, falling by -6.4% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in February 2021 when the average import price increased by 41% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $2,096 per ton in October 2021; however, from November 2021 to December 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was China ($2,046 per ton), while the price for India ($738 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From December 2020 to December 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+1.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average manganese dioxide export price amounted to $1,826 per ton, with a decrease of -13.3% against the previous year. In general, export price indicated a noticeable expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +2.7% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, manganese dioxide export price increased by +73.3% against 2017 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 an increase of 32% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $2,107 per ton, and then declined in the following year.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Indonesia ($14,000 per ton), while the average price for exports to Singapore ($875 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Indonesia (+27.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
