Steel Pipe And Tube Imports By Country

In 2016, China (X tonnes), distantly followed by India (X tonnes), United Arab Emirates (X tonnes), Qatar (X tonnes), and Japan (X tonnes) were the main importers of steel pipe and tube, together comprising X% of total imports. Saudi Arabia (X tonnes), France (X tonnes), Myanmar (X tonnes), Italy (X tonnes), and the U.S. (X tonnes) held the weak share of total imports.

China experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. At the same time, Myanmar (+X%), United Arab Emirates (+X%), and India (+X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Myanmar emerged as the fastest growing importer/exporter in the world, with a CAGR of +X% from 2007-2016. Japan experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Saudi Arabia (-X%), Qatar (-X%), Italy (-X%), the U.S. (-X%), and France (-X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of France (X%) increased significantly, the share of Myanmar (-X%), India (-X%), and United Arab Emirates (-X%) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Qatar ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported steel pipe and tube worldwide, making up X% of global imports. The second position in the ranking was occupied by France ($X), with the share of X% of global imports. It was followed by Saudi Arabia, with the share of X%.

In Qatar, steel pipe and tube imports expanded at an average annual rate of +X% over the period from 2007-2016. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates: France (+X% per year) and Saudi Arabia (-X% per year).

In 2016, the average import price for steel pipe and tube amounted to $X per tonne, shrinking by -X% against the previous year. Overall, steel pipe and tube import price continues to indicate a mild deduction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2008, when it surged by X% from the previous year level.
