Price for Non-Mineral or Non-Aerated Water in Hungary (FOB) - 2022

The average non-mineral or non-aerated water export price stood at $1.8 per litre in 2022, dropping by -37.6% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, enjoyed a strong increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 an increase of 668% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $15 per litre in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Slovenia ($3.4 per litre), while the average price for exports to Serbia ($0.5 per litre) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the UK (+16.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average non-mineral or non-aerated water import price amounted to $0.6 per litre, shrinking by -17.4% against the previous year. In general, the import price continues to indicate a mild downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when the average import price increased by 250%. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $3.3 per litre in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Austria (+16.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Exports of Non-Mineral or Non-Aerated Water in Hungary

In 2022, approx. 391K litres of non-mineral or non-aerated waters were exported from Hungary; approximately mirroring the year before. In general, exports recorded a significant increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 73%. The exports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, non-mineral or non-aerated water exports dropped markedly to $722K in 2022. Overall, exports recorded significant growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 251%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $1.1M, and then dropped sharply in the following year.
