Soft Drink Price in Colombia (CIF) - 2022

The average soft drink import price stood at $1.3 per litre in February 2022, which is down by -3.4% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in September 2021 when the average import price increased by 12% against the previous month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $1.6 per litre. From October 2021 to February 2022, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In February 2022, the country with the highest price was Germany ($3.9 per litre), while the price for Ecuador ($991 per thousand litres) was amongst the lowest.

From February 2021 to February 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Spain (+1.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Soft Drink Price in Colombia (FOB) - 2022

In February 2022, the average soft drink export price amounted to $975 per thousand litres, increasing by 20% against the previous month. Over the last twelve-month period, it increased at an average monthly rate of +2.9%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In February 2022, the country with the highest price was Chile ($4.4 per litre), while the average price for exports to Venezuela ($274 per thousand litres) was amongst the lowest.

From February 2021 to February 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Chile (+17.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Soft Drink Imports in Colombia

In 2022, the amount of soft drinks imported into Colombia surged to 65M litres, jumping by 50% compared with the previous year's figure. Over the period under review, imports showed a significant expansion. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, soft drink imports soared to $91M in 2022. In general, imports saw significant growth. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Soft Drink Exports in Colombia

Soft drink exports from Colombia expanded rapidly to 23M litres in 2022, with an increase of 7.8% on the year before. Over the period under review, exports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 13% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure at 23M litres in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, soft drink exports rose remarkably to $23M in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +6.3% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 22%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.
