The average export price for mushrooms and truffles, other than of the genus "agaricus" stood at $3,854 per ton in December 2023, picking up by 38% against the previous month. Over the period under review, export price indicated pronounced growth from December 2022 to December 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +3.3% over the last twelve months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on December 2023 figures, export price for mushrooms and truffles, other than of the genus "agaricus" increased by +65.3% against October 2023 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in June 2023 an increase of 38% against the previous month. The export price peaked in December 2023.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In December 2023, the country with the highest price was North Macedonia ($2,165 per ton), while the average price for exports to Bosnia and Herzegovina amounted to $1,318 per ton.
From December 2022 to December 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to North Macedonia (+0.8%).
