The average import price for glass fibres (including glass wool) and articles thereof (eg yarn, woven fabrics) stood at $2,298 per ton in 2022, with an increase of 2.1% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, saw a noticeable reduction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 an increase of 21%. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $3,619 per ton. From 2018 to 2022, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Poland ($9,226 per ton), while the price for the UK ($1,215 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Lithuania (+9.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
