Price for Electronic Integrated Circuits; Memories in Brazil (CIF) - 2022

The average electronic integrated circuits; memories import price stood at $3.7 per unit in 2022, with an increase of 6.3% against the previous year. In general, the import price continues to indicate a prominent expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 an increase of 48%. The import price peaked at $5 per unit in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Singapore ($6.4 per unit), while the price for the Philippines ($0.2 per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Singapore (+18.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Vietnam ($18 per unit), while the average price for exports to the United States ($0.6 per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Vietnam (+13.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, approx. 372M units of electronic integrated circuits were imported into Brazil; waning by -11.2% on the previous year's figure. Over the period under review, imports recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 17%. As a result, imports attained the peak of 419M units, and then contracted in the following year.

In value terms, electronic integrated circuits; memories imports contracted to $1.4B in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +3.7% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 38%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $1.4B, and then reduced in the following year.

In value terms, electronic integrated circuits; memories exports shrank notably to $13M in 2022. In general, exports, however, saw perceptible growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when exports increased by 55% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at $26M in 2021, and then dropped remarkably in the following year.
