In 2016, the global exports of integrated circuit stood at 160K tonnes, stabilizing at the previous year figure. In general, integrated circuit exports continue to indicate a moderate curtailment. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2010, when exports increased by 4% year-to-year. Global integrated circuit export peaked of 201K tonnes in 2007; however, from 2008 to 2016, it failed to regain its strength.

In value terms, integrated circuit exports amounted to $444B in 2016. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +3.4% over the period from 2007 to 2016; the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. Global integrated circuit export peaked in 2016, and are likely to see steady growth in the immediate term.

Integrated Circuit Exports By Country

In 2016, China (37K tonnes), distantly followed by the Philippines (23K tonnes), Germany (17K tonnes), South Korea (13K tonnes), France (8.7K tonnes), Spain (8.5K tonnes), the Netherlands (8.4K tonnes), the UK (8.1K tonnes), and Czech Republic (7.8K tonnes) represented the major exporters of integrated circuit, together achieving 82% of total exports.

From 2007 to 2016, the most notable growth rate of integrated circuit exports, among the main exporting countries, was attained by Spain (+9.6% per year), while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, China ($61B), South Korea ($52B) and the Philippines ($15B) appeared as the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2016, together comprising 29% of global exports.

China (+11.0% per year) recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the integrated circuit exports, in terms of the main exporting countries, over the last 9 year period, while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Integrated Circuit Export Prices By Country

The average integrated circuit export price stood at $2.8K per kg in 2016, remaining relatively unchanged against the previous year level. Overall, it indicated a strong growth from 2007 to 2016: the export price value increased at an average annual rate of +6.0% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. Based on the result of 2016, integrated circuit export price decreased by -2.4% against its level of 2013. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2010, when export increased by 21% from the previous year level. Global integrated circuit export peaked of $2.8K per kg in 2013; afterwards, it flattened through to 2016.

Export prices varied noticeably by country of destination. the country with the highest export prices was South Korea ($4.1K per kg), while Spain ($45 per kg) was among the lowest.

From 2007 to 2016, the most notable growth rate of integrated circuit export prices was attained by South Korea (+13.1% per year), while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
