Exports from Kazakhstan

In 2023, approx. X units of electronic chips were exported from Kazakhstan; reducing by X% on 2022 figures. In general, exports, however, enjoyed a resilient expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2022 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. The exports peaked at X units in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2023, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, electronic chip exports fell dramatically to $X in 2023. Over the period under review, exports, however, enjoyed a notable increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2022 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2023, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Exports by Country

Russia (X units) was the main destination for electronic chip exports from Kazakhstan, accounting for a X% share of total exports. It was followed by the Czech Republic (X units), with a X% share of total exports. The third position in this ranking was held by Uzbekistan (X units), with a X% share.

From 2012 to 2023, the average annual growth rate of volume to Russia amounted to X%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: the Czech Republic (X% per year) and Uzbekistan (X% per year).

In value terms, Russia ($X) remains the key foreign market for electronic chips exports from Kazakhstan, comprising X% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Hong Kong SAR ($X), with a X% share of total exports. It was followed by the Czech Republic, with a X% share.

From 2012 to 2023, the average annual growth rate of value to Russia amounted to X%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Hong Kong SAR (X% per year) and the Czech Republic (X% per year).

Export Prices by Country

In 2023, the average electronic chip export price amounted to $X per unit, rising by X% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, saw a noticeable curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when the average export price increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $X per unit in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2023, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Hong Kong SAR ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to the Czech Republic ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to South Korea (X%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Electronic Chip Imports

Imports into Kazakhstan

After two years of growth, overseas purchases of electronic chips decreased by X% to X units in 2023. Overall, imports, however, showed a prominent expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2022 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X units, and then dropped remarkably in the following year.

In value terms, electronic chip imports reduced sharply to $X in 2023. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at $X in 2022, and then shrank notably in the following year.

Imports by Country

In 2023, Taiwan (Chinese) (X units) constituted the largest supplier of electronic chip to Kazakhstan, accounting for a X% share of total imports. Moreover, electronic chip imports from Taiwan (Chinese) exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, the United States (X units), fourfold. Japan (X units) ranked third in terms of total imports with a X% share.

From 2012 to 2023, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from Taiwan (Chinese) amounted to X%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: the United States (X% per year) and Japan (X% per year).

In value terms, the largest electronic chip suppliers to Kazakhstan were Vietnam ($X), South Korea ($X) and Taiwan (Chinese) ($X), with a combined X% share of total imports.

Vietnam, with a CAGR of X%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, among the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

The average electronic chip import price stood at $X per unit in 2023, picking up by X% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, continues to indicate a deep reduction. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $X per unit in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was South Korea ($X per unit), while the price for the United States ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Russia (X%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
