In June 2023, the average import price for pectic substances; pectinates and pectateses amounted to $18,781 per ton, increasing by 1.9% against the previous month. Overall, import price indicated noticeable growth from June 2022 to June 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +2.2% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on June 2023 figures, pectic substances; pectinates and pectates import price increased by +7.2% against April 2023 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in November 2022 when the average import price increased by 21% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $23,444 per ton in March 2023; however, from April 2023 to June 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In June 2023, the highest price was recorded for prices from Denmark ($21,019 per ton) and Switzerland ($20,733 per ton), while the price for Italy ($14,904 per ton) and France ($15,966 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+3.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In June 2023, the average export price for pectic substances; pectinates and pectateses amounted to $31,888 per ton, with a decrease of -87% against the previous month. Overall, the export price, however, continues to indicate buoyant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in May 2023 an increase of 1,525% m-o-m. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $245K per ton, and then dropped sharply in the following month.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was Italy ($39,263 per ton), while the average price for exports to Saudi Arabia ($12,136 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Italy (+36.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Imports of Pectic Substances; Pectinates and Pectates in the UK
In 2022, the amount of pectic substances; pectinates and pectateses imported into the UK shrank sharply to 1.7K tons, with a decrease of -28.8% on the previous year's figure.
