In December 2022, the average export price for jerseys, pullovers, cardigans, waistcoats and similar articles; of cotton, knitted or crocheted amounted to $4.4 per unit, reducing by -12.2% against the previous month. Overall, the export price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in February 2022 when the average export price increased by 27% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure at $6.0 per unit in March 2022; however, from April 2022 to December 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In December 2022, the country with the highest price was Sweden ($5.6 per unit), while the average price for exports to Norway ($3.2 per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2021 to December 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Netherlands (+4.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Overall, total exports indicated a significant increase from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +25.3% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +96.9% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 33% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports of hit record highs in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

In general, imports saw a sharp shrinkage. The smallest decline of -6.1% was in 2020. Imports peaked at 146K units in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, imports of jerseys, pullovers, cardigans, waistcoats and similar articles; of cotton, knitted or crocheted fell rapidly to $134K in 2022. Overall, imports recorded a dramatic decrease. The smallest decline of -7% was in 2020.
