In October 2023, the average import price for dates, figs, pineapples, avocados, guavas, mangoes and mangosteens; fresh or drieds amounted to $2,352 per ton, remaining stable against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in February 2023 when the average import price increased by 13% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $2,474 per ton in June 2023; however, from July 2023 to October 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Chile ($3,452 per ton), while the price for Iran ($818 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Turkey (+2.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average export price for dates, figs, pineapples, avocados, guavas, mangoes and mangosteens; fresh or drieds amounted to $4,445 per ton, declining by -25.4% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, posted temperate growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 an increase of 109% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $9,759 per ton in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United Arab Emirates ($6,421 per ton), while the average price for exports to Georgia ($1,324 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to British Virgin Islands (+132.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in purchases abroad of dates, figs, pineapples, avocados, guavas, mangoes and mangosteens; fresh or drieds, when their volume decreased by -47.1% to 20K tons. In general, imports saw a deep slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 28% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of 39K tons, and then dropped rapidly in the following year.
In value terms, imports of dates, figs, pineapples, avocados, guavas, mangoes and mangosteens; fresh or drieds declined remarkably to $43M in 2022. Overall, imports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 33% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $69M, and then declined markedly in the following year.

In 2022, overseas shipments of dates, figs, pineapples, avocados, guavas, mangoes and mangosteens; fresh or drieds decreased by -25.6% to 1.6 tons, falling for the second consecutive year after two years of growth. Overall, exports, however, showed prominent growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when exports increased by 1,152% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 13 tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports of failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, exports of dates, figs, pineapples, avocados, guavas, mangoes and mangosteens; fresh or drieds dropped dramatically to $7.2K in 2022. In general, exports, however, recorded a strong increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when exports increased by 640%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $37K. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports of failed to regain momentum.
