The average import price for dates, figs, pineapples, avocados, guavas, mangoes and mangosteens; fresh or drieds stood at $2,940 per ton in October 2023, with an increase of 10% against the previous month. In general, the import price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in February 2023 an increase of 13% m-o-m. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $3,668 per ton. From March 2023 to October 2023, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Israel ($2,971 per ton), while the price for Egypt amounted to $1,427 per ton.
From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Croatia (+4.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average export price for dates, figs, pineapples, avocados, guavas, mangoes and mangosteens; fresh or drieds stood at $1,471 per ton in October 2023, falling by -45.7% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price continues to indicate a abrupt curtailment. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in November 2022 when the average export price increased by 29% m-o-m. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $4,544 per ton. From December 2022 to October 2023, the the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Montenegro ($2,090 per ton), while the average price for exports to Bosnia and Herzegovina ($982 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (+21.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

As a result, imports reached the peak of 17K tons, and then declined markedly in the following year.

Overall, imports, however, enjoyed a resilient expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 73% against the previous year.
