In October 2023, the average import price for dates, figs, pineapples, avocados, guavas, mangoes and mangosteens; fresh or drieds amounted to $2,226 per ton, increasing by 17% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, continues to indicate a mild setback. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in September 2023 an increase of 26% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $2,936 per ton in November 2022; however, from December 2022 to October 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Palestine ($6,819 per ton), while the price for Iraq ($889 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Ghana (+2.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
