The average import price for dates, figs, pineapples, avocados, guavas, mangoes and mangosteens; fresh or drieds stood at $2,482 per ton in 2022, dropping by -6% against the previous year. In general, import price indicated a strong expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +5.0% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, import price for dates, figs, pineapples, avocados, guavas, mangoes and mangosteens; fresh or drieds increased by +80.3% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when the average import price increased by 71%. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $2,640 per ton in 2021, and then contracted in the following year.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Egypt ($2,921 per ton), while the price for Costa Rica ($952 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Iraq (+14.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average export price for dates, figs, pineapples, avocados, guavas, mangoes and mangosteens; fresh or drieds stood at $3,846 per ton in December 2022, approximately equating the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in July 2022 an increase of 3.8% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $3,952 per ton in April 2022; however, from May 2022 to December 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major foreign markets. In December 2022, the countries with the highest prices were the Netherlands ($3,858 per ton) and Lebanon ($3,858 per ton), while the average price for exports to Kuwait ($3,858 per ton) and Qatar ($3,858 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From January 2022 to December 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Netherlands (0.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, imports of dates, figs, pineapples, avocados, guavas, mangoes and mangosteens; fresh or drieds declined to $32M in 2022. Over the period under review, imports saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when imports increased by 7.1%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $36M, and then declined in the following year.

Over the period under review, exports, however, showed a slight increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 70% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 14K tons, and then reduced sharply in the following year.

Overall, total exports indicated a remarkable increase from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +9.6% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 43%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $43M, and then fell significantly in the following year.
