The average import price for dates, figs, pineapples, avocados, guavas, mangoes and mangosteens; fresh or drieds stood at $1,435 per ton in 2022, increasing by 5.5% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when the average import price increased by 11% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $1,603 per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United Arab Emirates ($2,274 per ton), while the price for Yemen ($751 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Pakistan (+5.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the period under review, the export price recorded significant growth. As a result, the export price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for the United Arab Emirates.
