Price for Cereals; Millet, Other than Seed in Italy (CIF) - 2023

In October 2023, the average import price for cereals; millet, other than seeds amounted to $426 per ton, reducing by -7.8% against the previous month. Overall, the import price showed a perceptible contraction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in December 2022 when the average import price increased by 11% month-to-month. The import price peaked at $679 per ton in June 2023; however, from July 2023 to October 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.

As there is only one major supplying country, the average price level is determined by prices for Ukraine.

From October 2022 to October 2023, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Ukraine amounted to -1.0% per month.

Over the period under review, export price indicated a pronounced expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +2.5% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, cereals; millet, other than seed export price decreased by -5.2% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 when the average export price increased by 69% against the previous year.
