Which Country Consumes the Most Millet in the World?
Global millet consumption amounted to X thousand tonnes in 2015, lowering by -X% against the previous year level. Overall, the global millet consumption indicated a pronounced decline from 2007 to 2015. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticable fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. The total consumption volume decreased at an average annual rate of -X%. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2010, when the output figure increased by +X% from the previous year level. Over the period under review, the global millet consumption attained its maximum volume of X thousand tonnes in 2008. From 2009 to 2015, the total millet consumption growth failed to regain its strength.

Global Millet Consumption
With nearly X thousand tonnes, India became the world’s leading millet consuming country, mixed up X% of global consumption. Moreover, millet consumption in India surpassed the figures recorded by Niger fourfold. They were followed by Sudan with a X% of global consumption share and Mali with a X% share.
From 2007 to 2015, an average annual growth rate of millet consumption in India stood at -X%. The remaining consuming countries recorded the following average annual growth rates: Niger (+X% per year) and China (+X% per year).
The highest levels of millet per capita consumption was registered in Niger (X kg/year), followed by Mali (X kg/year), India (X kg/year), China (X kg/year) and Sudan (X kg/year), while the average per capita consumption of millet was estimated at X kg/year in 2015.
In China, per capita millet consumption has grown noticably (+X% per year) in recent years. In 2015, China per capita consumption reached X kg/year as compared with X kg/year in 2007.
