The average import price for cabbages, cauliflowers, kohlrabi, kale and similar edible brassicas; fresh or chilleds stood at $1,332 per ton in December 2023, picking up by 7% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in April 2023 an increase of 15% against the previous month. The import price peaked at $1,394 per ton in May 2023; however, from June 2023 to December 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Guatemala ($2,770 per ton), while the price for Canada ($860 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2022 to December 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Guatemala (+3.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

In December 2023, the average export price for cabbages, cauliflowers, kohlrabi, kale and similar edible brassicas; fresh or chilleds amounted to $1,594 per ton, remaining constant against the previous month. In general, the export price saw a noticeable decrease. The growth pace was the most rapid in July 2023 when the average export price increased by 10% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $2,025 per ton in December 2022; however, from January 2023 to December 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major export markets. In December 2023, the country with the highest price was Canada ($1,594 per ton), while the average price for exports to Mexico stood at $1,419 per ton.
From December 2022 to December 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Mexico (+1.0%).

In 2022, after three years of growth, there was decline in purchases abroad of cabbages, cauliflowers, kohlrabi, kale and similar edible brassicas; fresh or chilleds, when their volume decreased by -1.8% to 625K tons. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +2.7% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with only minor fluctuations being observed in certain years. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when imports increased by 6.2%. As a result, imports attained the peak of 636K tons, and then reduced in the following year.

The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +8.8% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when imports increased by 11% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports of reached the peak figure in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.
