The average import price for cabbages, cauliflowers, kohlrabi, kale and similar edible brassicas; fresh or chilleds stood at $1,123 per ton in October 2023, picking up by 7.2% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in January 2023 an increase of 40% against the previous month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $1,879 per ton. From February 2023 to October 2023, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In October 2023, the country with the highest price was Spain ($2,556 per ton), while the price for Serbia ($350 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+4.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average export price for cabbages, cauliflowers, kohlrabi, kale and similar edible brassicas; fresh or chilleds stood at $810 per ton in October 2023, which is down by -44.7% against the previous month. In general, the export price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in May 2023 when the average export price increased by 332% m-o-m. The export price peaked at $2,164 per ton in June 2023; however, from July 2023 to October 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In October 2023, the country with the highest price was Romania ($1,251 per ton), while the average price for exports to Bulgaria ($616 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Romania (+11.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

For the third consecutive year, Greece recorded decline in purchases abroad of cabbages, cauliflowers, kohlrabi, kale and similar edible brassicas; fresh or chilleds, which decreased by -21.2% to 3.5K tons in 2022. Over the period under review, imports saw a sharp downturn. The smallest decline of -17.6% was in 2020.
In value terms, imports of cabbages, cauliflowers, kohlrabi, kale and similar edible brassicas; fresh or chilleds reduced remarkably to $4.5M in 2022. In general, imports continue to indicate a deep slump. The smallest decline of -1.7% was in 2020.

Overall, exports recorded a strong increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 81% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports of attained the peak figure in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, exports of cabbages, cauliflowers, kohlrabi, kale and similar edible brassicas; fresh or chilleds declined to $2.7M in 2022. In general, total exports indicated a buoyant increase from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +12.5% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +53.3% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 75%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $3M, and then contracted in the following year.
