Price for Butter and Dairy Spreads in Poland (FOB) - 2023

The average butter and dairy spreads export price stood at $5,321 per ton in July 2023, reducing by -3.7% against the previous month. Overall, the export price recorded a pronounced slump. The growth pace was the most rapid in March 2023 an increase of 3.9% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $6,973 per ton in November 2022; however, from December 2022 to July 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

Average prices varied somewhat for the major external markets. In July 2023, the countries with the highest prices were Croatia ($7,051 per ton) and Hungary ($6,045 per ton), while the average price for exports to France ($4,866 per ton) and Greece ($5,052 per ton) were amongst the lowest.

From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Bahrain (+4.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

Price for Butter and Dairy Spreads in Poland (CIF) - 2023

The average butter and dairy spreads import price stood at $6,101 per ton in June 2023, with an increase of 5% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in January 2023 when the average import price increased by 6.5% m-o-m. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $7,278 per ton. From February 2023 to June 2023, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was France ($8,280 per ton), while the price for Ireland ($4,772 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Denmark (+5.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Exports of Butter and Dairy Spreads in Poland

In 2022, the amount of butter and dairy spreads exported from Poland surged to 72K tons, jumping by 54% on the year before. In general, total exports indicated a remarkable increase from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +9.5% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, butter and dairy spreads exports surged to $480M in 2022. Over the period under review, exports showed a significant increase. As a result, the exports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
