In November 2023, the average export price for aluminium; alloys, bars, rods and profiles, other than hollows amounted to $5,777 per ton, therefore, remained relatively stable against the previous month. Overall, the export price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in October 2023 an increase of 2% m-o-m. The export price peaked at $6,301 per ton in December 2022; however, from January 2023 to November 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In November 2023, the country with the highest price was Russia ($17,438 per ton), while the average price for exports to Serbia ($4,715 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Bosnia and Herzegovina (+2.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In November 2023, the average import price for aluminium; alloys, bars, rods and profiles, other than hollows amounted to $4,963 per ton, shrinking by -1.8% against the previous month. Overall, the import price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in April 2023 an increase of 7.5% against the previous month. The import price peaked at $5,463 per ton in December 2022; however, from January 2023 to November 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In November 2023, the countries with the highest prices were Ukraine ($5,033 per ton) and Turkey ($4,744 per ton), while the price for Serbia ($4,159 per ton) and Vietnam ($4,348 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From December 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Malaysia (+1.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Exports of Aluminium; Alloys, Bars, Rods and Profiles, Other than Hollow in Poland
In 2022, the amount of aluminium; alloys, bars, rods and profiles, other than hollows exported from Poland skyrocketed to 156K tons, picking up by 26% on 2021 figures. Over the period under review, total exports indicated a remarkable increase from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +18.6% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +66.9% against 2019 indices. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Over the period under review, total imports indicated a buoyant expansion from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +9.9% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +32.6% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 35%. As a result, imports reached the peak of 122K tons, and then dropped in the following year.
In value terms, imports of aluminium; alloys, bars, rods and profiles, other than hollows reached $568M in 2022. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate significant growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 63% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
