In August 2023, the average mandarins import price amounted to $1,359 per ton, remaining stable against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in March 2023 an increase of 5.7% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $1,672 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to August 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In August 2023, the highest price was recorded for prices from Peru ($1,391 per ton) and South Africa ($1,375 per ton), while the price for Uruguay ($1,215 per ton) and Chile ($1,318 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Chile (+0.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

In August 2023, the average mandarins export price amounted to $1,107 per ton, growing by 4.2% against the previous month. Overall, the export price, however, showed a slight contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in October 2022 when the average export price increased by 39% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $2,078 per ton in January 2023; however, from February 2023 to August 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was Canada ($1,831 per ton), while the average price for exports to Mexico amounted to $915 per ton.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Australia (+30.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
