Fibreboard Price in Estonia (CIF) - 2022
The average fibreboard import price stood at $604 per cubic meter in 2022, with an increase of 21% against the previous year. In general, import price indicated a modest increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +1.8% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, fibreboard import price increased by +46.3% against 2018 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when the average import price increased by 22% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum in 2022 and is likely to see steady growth in the near future.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Finland ($957 per cubic meter), while the price for Russia ($351 per cubic meter) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Poland (+5.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Fibreboard Price in Estonia (FOB) - 2022
The average fibreboard export price stood at $559 per cubic meter in 2022, growing by 20% against the previous year. In general, export price indicated notable growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +3.4% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, fibreboard export price increased by +71.2% against 2016 indices. As a result, the export price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Norway ($1,357 per cubic meter), while the average price for exports to Russia ($324 per cubic meter) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Sweden (+8.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Fibreboard Imports in Estonia
After three years of growth, purchases abroad of fibreboard decreased by -16.1% to 61K cubic meters in 2022. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 12%. As a result, imports reached the peak of 73K cubic meters, and then declined significantly in the following year.
In value terms, fibreboard imports stood at $37M in 2022. Over the period under review, total imports indicated prominent growth from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +17.0% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +60.3% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 36% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
