The global exports peaked at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2017, exports remained at a lower figure.
Exports by Country
Germany (X cubic meters) and China (X cubic meters) were the largest exporters of fiber board of wood or other ligneous materials in 2017, finishing at near X% and X% of total exports, respectively. Poland (X cubic meters) ranks next in terms of the total exports with a X% share, followed by Russia (X%) and France (X%). Turkey (X cubic meters), Belgium (X cubic meters), Brazil (X cubic meters), Spain (X cubic meters), Canada (X cubic meters), Belarus (X cubic meters) and Austria (X cubic meters) followed a long way behind the leaders.
From 2007 to 2017, the most notable rate of growth in terms of exports, amongst the main exporting countries, was attained by Belarus, while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest fiberboard markets worldwide were Germany ($X), China ($X) and Belgium ($X), with a combined X% share of global exports. These countries were followed by Poland, Austria, Turkey, France, Spain, Canada, Russia, Brazil and Belarus, which together accounted for a further X%.
Belarus experienced the highest rates of growth with regard to exports, among the main exporting countries over the last decade, while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices by Country
In 2017, the average fiberboard export price amounted to $X per thousand cubic meters, rising by X% against the previous year. Overall, the fiberboard export price, however, continues to indicate a measured contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when the average export price increased by X% against the previous year. The global export price peaked at $X per thousand cubic meters in 2008; however, from 2009 to 2017, export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2017, the country with the highest price was Belgium ($X per thousand cubic meters), while Belarus ($X per thousand cubic meters) was amongst the lowest.
From 2007 to 2017, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China, while the other global leaders experienced mixed trends in the export price figures.
Imports 2007-2017
In 2017, the amount of fiber board of wood or other ligneous materials imported worldwide amounted to X cubic meters, picking up by X% against the previous year. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +X% from 2007 to 2017; the trend pattern remained consistent, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being observed in certain years. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2011 with an increase of X% y-o-y. The global imports peaked in 2017 and are likely to continue its growth in the near future.
In value terms, fiberboard imports totaled $X in 2017. Over the period under review, fiberboard imports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2011 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, global fiberboard imports attained their peak figure at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2017, imports failed to regain their momentum.
Imports by Country
In 2017, the U.S. (X cubic meters), distantly followed by Belgium (X cubic meters) were the largest importers of fiber board of wood or other ligneous materials, together mixing up X% of total imports. The following importers - Germany (X cubic meters), the UK (X cubic meters), France (X cubic meters), Italy (X cubic meters), the Netherlands (X cubic meters), Canada (X cubic meters), Iran (X cubic meters), Poland (X cubic meters), Japan (X cubic meters) and Mexico (X cubic meters) - together made up X% of total imports.
Imports into the U.S. increased at an average annual rate of +X% from 2007 to 2017. At the same time, Mexico (+X%), Italy (+X%), Belgium (+X%), Germany (+X%), the Netherlands (+X%) and Iran (+X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Mexico emerged as the fastest-growing importer in the world, with a CAGR of +X% from 2007-2017. Poland, the UK and Japan experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, France (-X%) and Canada (-X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of the U.S. (+X p.p.) increased significantly, the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, the U.S. ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported fiber board of wood or other ligneous materials worldwide, comprising X% of global imports. The second position in the ranking was occupied by the UK ($X), with a X% share of global imports. It was followed by Germany, with a X% share.
In the U.S., fiberboard imports remained relatively stable over the period from 2007-2017. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: the UK (-X% per year) and Germany (+X% per year).
