Dairy Spread Price in Poland (CIF) - 2022

The average dairy spread import price stood at $5,383 per ton in 2022, picking up by 43% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The import price peaked at $5,445 per ton in 2017; afterwards, it flattened through to 2022.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Italy ($10,092 per ton), while the price for Denmark ($4,701 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Slovakia (+5.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

Dairy Spread Price in Poland (FOB) - 2023

The average dairy spread export price stood at $6,231 per ton in May 2023, rising by 10% against the previous month. In general, export price indicated a tangible expansion from May 2022 to May 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +2.7% over the last twelve months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on May 2023 figures, dairy spread export price increased by +30.3% against February 2023 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in October 2022 when the average export price increased by 44% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $7,155 per ton in July 2022; however, from August 2022 to May 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Belgium ($8,464 per ton), while the average price for exports to Germany ($4,937 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From May 2022 to May 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Belgium (+9.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Dairy Spread Imports in Poland

In 2022, overseas purchases of dairy spreads decreased by -70.5% to 19 tons, falling for the second consecutive year after two years of growth. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a sharp shrinkage. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 8.5%. As a result, imports attained the peak of 135 tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, dairy spread imports shrank remarkably to $104K in 2022. Overall, imports saw a dramatic setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 28% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $613K. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
