Chocolate Price in Qatar (CIF) - 2023

The average chocolate import price stood at $10,519 per ton in June 2023, rising by 7.5% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in November 2022 an increase of 32% month-to-month. The import price peaked at $12,421 per ton in March 2023; however, from April 2023 to June 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was Jordan ($20,086 per ton), while the price for Indonesia ($1,323 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Lebanon (+15.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Chocolate Imports in Qatar

In 2022, approx. 3.6K tons of chocolate and other food preparations containing cocoa were imported into Qatar; which is down by -33.5% against the previous year's figure. Overall, imports saw a drastic downturn. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when imports increased by 36%. As a result, imports reached the peak of 5.4K tons, and then declined markedly in the following year.

In value terms, chocolate imports dropped markedly to $37M in 2022. In general, imports, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 43%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $51M, and then declined markedly in the following year.
