The average cereals; millet, seed export price stood at $2,298 per ton in May 2023, increasing by 936% against the previous month. In general, the export price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The export price peaked at $2,647 per ton in February 2023; however, from March 2023 to May 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In May 2023, the country with the highest price was Pakistan ($4,456 per ton), while the average price for exports to Iraq ($194 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2022 to May 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Iran (+10.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
