Cereals; Millet, Seed Price in Indonesia (CIF) - 2022

In 2022, the average cereals; millet, seed import price amounted to $473 per ton, declining by -2.8% against the previous year. Overall, import price indicated a noticeable expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +3.1% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, cereals; millet, seed import price increased by +63.2% against 2016 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when the average import price increased by 24% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $486 per ton in 2021, and then reduced slightly in the following year.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($492 per ton), while the price for Canada ($264 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United States (+5.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

In 2022, supplies from abroad of cereals; millet, seeds was finally on the rise to reach 8.5K tons for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year declining trend. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a deep downturn.

In value terms, cereals; millet, seed imports surged to $4M in 2022. Overall, imports, however, showed a abrupt shrinkage.
