Price for Cereals; Maize (Corn), Other than Seed in Myanmar (FOB) - 2022

In December 2022, the average export price for cereals; maize (corn), other than seeds amounted to $296 per ton, growing by 2% against the previous month. In general, the export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in May 2022 an increase of 68% month-to-month. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $840 per ton. From June 2022 to December 2022, the the average export prices remained at a lower figure.

Average prices varied noticeably for the major export markets. In December 2022, the highest price was recorded for prices to Bangladesh ($300 per ton) and China ($298 per ton), while the average price for exports to Vietnam ($292 per ton) and the Philippines ($292 per ton) were amongst the lowest.

From December 2021 to December 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to China (+14.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
