Camping Trailer Price in Norway (CIF) - 2023

In August 2023, the average camping trailer import price amounted to $27,824 per unit, with a decrease of -15.5% against the previous month. Over the last twelve-month period, it increased at an average monthly rate of +2.5%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in April 2023 when the average import price increased by 20% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $32,918 per unit in July 2023, and then dropped sharply in the following month.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Sweden ($31,435 per unit), while the price for Denmark ($15,156 per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Sweden (+4.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Camping Trailer Price in Norway (FOB) - 2022

In 2022, the average camping trailer export price amounted to $17,289 per unit, increasing by 154% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, recorded a noticeable curtailment. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $24,204 per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Sweden ($28,909 per unit), while the average price for exports to Peru ($390 per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Estonia (+55.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Camping Trailer Imports in Norway

In 2022, approx. 3.4K units of trailers and semi-trailers of the caravan type, for housing or camping were imported into Norway; picking up by 7.8% compared with the previous year. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +6.7% from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 39% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in the near future.

In value terms, camping trailer imports expanded significantly to $85M in 2022. In general, total imports indicated strong growth from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +8.3% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +58.8% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 50%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in the near future.

Camping Trailer Exports in Norway

In 2022, overseas shipments of trailers and semi-trailers of the caravan type, for housing or camping decreased by -20.5% to 66 units for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. Over the period under review, exports, however, showed a significant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 88% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at 83 units in 2021, and then shrank remarkably in the following year.

In value terms, camping trailer exports soared to $1.1M in 2022. Overall, exports, however, showed a significant expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 188% against the previous year. The exports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
