The average artichoke import price stood at $2,143 per ton in 2022, declining by -11.2% against the previous year. In general, the import price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 an increase of 27% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $3,178 per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

The average artichoke export price stood at $2,278 per ton in 2022, almost unchanged from the previous year. Overall, the export price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $2,279 per ton in 2016; afterwards, it flattened through to 2022.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the UK ($2,694 per ton), while the average price for exports to the United Arab Emirates ($442 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2016 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the UK (-12.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
