Magnesium Imports By Country
China (X tonnes) was the largest importer of magnesium in the world, finishing at X tonnes, which was near X% of total imports in 2016. Canada (X tonnes) ranks second globally in magnesium imports with a X% share, following Germany (X%), and the U.S. (X%). Israel (X tonnes), Japan (X tonnes), South Korea (X tonnes), India (X tonnes), France (X tonnes), Romania (X tonnes), Mexico (X tonnes), and United Arab Emirates (X tonnes) occupied the minor share of total imports.
China experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. Canada (-X%) significantly weakened its position in terms of the global imports, while the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, the largest magnesium markets worldwide were Canada ($X), the U.S. ($X) and Germany ($X), together comprising X% of global imports. These countries were followed by Japan, South Korea, India, Mexico, France, Romania, United Arab Emirates, China and Israel, which together accounted for a further X%.
