In 2021, overseas shipments of magnesium were finally on the rise to reach X tonnes after two years of decline. In general, total exports indicated prominent growth from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, magnesium exports surged to $X in 2021. Overall, total exports indicated strong growth from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Exports by Country
The United States (X tonnes) was the main destination for magnesium exports from the Czech Republic, with a X% share of total exports. Moreover, magnesium exports to the United States exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Brazil (X tonnes), twofold. Switzerland (X tonnes) ranked third in terms of total exports with a X% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume to the United States stood at +X%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Brazil (+X% per year) and Switzerland (-X% per year).
In value terms, the United States ($X) remains the key foreign market for magnesium exports from the Czech Republic, comprising X% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was occupied by Brazil ($X), with a X% share of total exports. It was followed by Germany, with a X% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value to the United States stood at +X%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Brazil (+X% per year) and Germany (-X% per year).
Export Prices by Country
In 2021, the average magnesium export price amounted to $X per tonne, rising by X% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2021, it increased at an average annual rate of +X%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 an increase of X% year-to-year. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure in 2021 and is likely to continue growth in years to come.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Spain ($X per tonne), while the average price for exports to Switzerland ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Brazil (+X%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into the Czech Republic
In 2021, supplies from abroad of magnesium increased by X% to X tonnes, rising for the third year in a row after four years of decline. Over the period under review, imports posted prominent growth. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, magnesium imports surged to $X in 2021. In general, imports enjoyed a resilient expansion. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Imports by Country
In 2021, China (X tonnes) constituted the largest supplier of magnesium to the Czech Republic, with a X% share of total imports. Moreover, magnesium imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, the Netherlands (X tonnes), twofold. Germany (X tonnes) ranked third in terms of total imports with an X% share.

The average magnesium import price stood at $X per tonne in 2021, surging by X% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, showed a pronounced descent. The import price peaked at $X per tonne in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was China ($X per tonne), while the price for Poland ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Belgium (+X%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
