The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +X% from 2012 to 2021; the trend pattern remained consistent, with only minor fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The global exports peaked at X tons in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, carbides exports surged to $X in 2021. Overall, exports, however, saw a slight decrease. Over the period under review, the global exports reached the maximum at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In 2021, China (X tons) was the main exporter of carbides, achieving X% of total exports. The Netherlands (X tons) ranks second in terms of the total exports with a X% share, followed by Germany (X%). The following exporters - Brazil (X tons), Russia (X tons), Slovakia (X tons), Romania (X tons), Sweden (X tons), Kazakhstan (X tons), Vietnam (X tons), Belgium (X tons), the United States (X tons) and South Korea (X tons) - together made up X% of total exports.

Exports from China increased at an average annual rate of +X% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Vietnam (+X%), Germany (+X%), Brazil (+X%) and the Netherlands (+X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Vietnam emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the world, with a CAGR of +X% from 2012-2021. Kazakhstan and Russia experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Slovakia (-X%), Sweden (-X%), Romania (-X%), South Korea (-X%), Belgium (-X%) and the United States (-X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of China (+X p.p.) and Germany (+X p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the global exports from 2012-2021, the share of Romania (-X p.p.), Slovakia (-X p.p.) and the United States (-X p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, China ($X) remains the largest carbides supplier worldwide, comprising X% of global exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Germany ($X), with a X% share of global exports. It was followed by the Netherlands, with a X% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value in China totaled +X%. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Germany (+X% per year) and the Netherlands (+X% per year).

Over the period under review, global imports hit record highs at X tons in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, carbides imports soared to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a slight downturn. Over the period under review, global imports reached the peak figure at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
