The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of 35% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X. From 2014 to 2021, the growth of the global exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Exports by Country
In 2021, China (X units) was the key exporter of bedspreads (excluding eiderdowns), achieving 54% of total exports. India (X units) held a 30% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by Turkey (5%). Pakistan (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.

The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when the average export price increased by 12% against the previous year. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 with an increase of 11%. Global imports peaked in 2021 and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Imports by Country
The United States was the main importer of bedspreads (excluding eiderdowns) in the world, with the volume of imports amounting to X units, which was approx. 24% of total imports in 2021. It was distantly followed by India (X units), generating a 7.6% share of total imports. The following importers - Spain (X units), the UK (X units), France (X units), Kenya (X units), Germany (X units), Malaysia (X units), Italy (X units), Russia (X units), Greece (X units), Belarus (X units) and Poland (X units) - together made up 30% of total imports.
Imports into the United States increased at an average annual rate of +6.9% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Belarus (+38.8%), Kenya (+28.0%), Greece (+25.6%), Malaysia (+20.5%), India (+6.7%), Poland (+5.8%) and Spain (+4.4%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Belarus emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the world, with a CAGR of +38.8% from 2012-2021. France and Italy experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, the UK (-1.7%), Germany (-2.7%) and Russia (-13.9%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. The United States (+7.6 p.p.), Kenya (+2.4 p.p.), India (+2.3 p.p.), Malaysia (+2 p.p.), Greece (+1.8 p.p.) and Belarus (+1.7 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the global imports, while the UK, Germany and Russia saw its share reduced by -1.5%, -1.6% and -9% from 2012 to 2021, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, the United States ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported bedspreads (excluding eiderdowns) worldwide, comprising 25% of global imports. The second position in the ranking was held by India ($X), with an 8.4% share of global imports. It was followed by Germany, with a 4.9% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in the United States stood at +6.6%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: India (+3.6% per year) and Germany (-0.9% per year).
Import Prices by Country
The average bedspread import price stood at $X per unit in 2021, dropping by -10.2% against the previous year. Overall, the import price continues to indicate a noticeable reduction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when the average import price increased by 5.8%. Global import price peaked at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per unit), while Kenya ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
