In 2021, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in shipments abroad of pyrethrum and peppermint, when their volume decreased by -X% to X tonnes. Overall, exports, however, showed a strong expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when exports increased by X% y-o-y. As a result, the exports attained the peak of X tonnes, and then shrank in the following year.
In value terms, pyrethrum and peppermint exports declined rapidly to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports, however, enjoyed a resilient expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when exports increased by X% y-o-y. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X, and then contracted significantly in the following year.

In 2021, Myanmar (X tonnes) was the main exporter of pyrethrum and peppermint, achieving X% of total exports. Indonesia (X tonnes) ranks second in terms of the total exports with a X% share, followed by Thailand (X%) and Vietnam (X%).
Myanmar was also the fastest-growing in terms of the pyrethrum and peppermint exports, with a CAGR of +X% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Vietnam (+X%) and Thailand (+X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Indonesia experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. percentage points. The pyrethrum and peppermint export price in South-Eastern Asia stood at $X per tonne in 2021, which is down by -X% against the previous year. In general, the export price showed a slight decrease. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 an increase of X% y-o-y. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per tonne, and then fell sharply in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Vietnam ($X per tonne), while Thailand ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.

In 2021, overseas purchases of pyrethrum and peppermint increased by X% to X tonnes, rising for the second consecutive year after two years of decline. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the period from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 with an increase of X% y-o-y. The volume of import peaked at X tonnes in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, pyrethrum and peppermint imports rose to $X in 2021. Total imports indicated pronounced growth from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports decreased by -X% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 when imports increased by X% year-to-year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2016 to 2021, the growth imports remained at a lower figure.

Singapore (X tonnes), Thailand (X tonnes), Vietnam (X tonnes) and Malaysia (X tonnes) represented roughly X% of total imports of pyrethrum and peppermint in 2021.
