The country with the largest volume of pyrethrum and peppermint production was China (X tonnes), comprising approx. X% of total volume. Moreover, pyrethrum and peppermint production in China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest producer, India (X tonnes), twofold. Kazakhstan (X tonnes) ranked third in terms of total production with a X% share.

From 2007 to 2020, the average annual growth rate of volume in China was relatively modest. The remaining producing countries recorded the following average annual rates of production growth: India (+X% per year) and Kazakhstan (+X% per year).

The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the period from 2007 to 2020; the trend pattern remained consistent, with only minor fluctuations being recorded in certain years. Over the period under review, exports reached the peak figure at X tonnes in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2020, exports failed to regain the momentum.

In value terms, pyrethrum and peppermint exports surged to $X in 2020. Over the period under review, exports saw a strong expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 with an increase of X% against the previous year. As a result, exports attained the peak of $X. from 2015 to 2020, the growth exports failed to regain the momentum.

China (X tonnes) and India (X tonnes) represented the largest exporters of pyrethrum and peppermint in 2020, amounting to approx. X% and X% of total exports, respectively. Myanmar (X tonnes) held a X% share (based on tonnes) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by Afghanistan (X%). The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2020 figures, imports increased by +X% against 2017 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2010 when imports increased by X% y-o-y.
