Imports into Serbia
After seven years of growth, supplies from abroad of nitrogen decreased by X% to X cubic meters in 2022. In general, imports, however, recorded significant growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 with an increase of X%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at X cubic meters in 2021, and then contracted sharply in the following year.
In value terms, nitrogen imports rose modestly to $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, enjoyed a strong expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
Imports by Country
In 2022, North Macedonia (X cubic meters) constituted the largest supplier of nitrogen to Serbia, accounting for a X% share of total imports. Moreover, nitrogen imports from North Macedonia exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Bulgaria (X cubic meters), threefold. Hungary (X cubic meters) ranked third in terms of total imports with a X% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume from North Macedonia stood at X%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Bulgaria (X.6% per year) and Hungary (X% per year).
