Germany prevails in exports structure, finishing at X units, which was near 71% of total exports in 2021. It was distantly followed by Italy (X units), creating a 5.4% share of total exports. Greece (X units), China (X units), the UK (X units) and Sweden (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.

Exports from Germany increased at an average annual rate of +4.5% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Greece (+52.6%), Sweden (+44.8%), the UK (+4.3%) and China (+4.0%) displayed positive paces of growth. Germany (+12 p.p.), Greece (+3.9 p.p.) and Sweden (+2.5 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the global exports, while Italy saw its share reduced by -6.1% from 2012 to 2021, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Germany ($X) remains the largest rock cutter supplier from Puerto Rico, comprising 67% of global exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Italy ($X), with a 4.8% share of global exports. It was followed by Sweden, with a 4.6% share.

In Germany, rock cutter exports remained relatively stable over the period from 2012-2021. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Italy (-6.4% per year) and Sweden (+57.1% per year).

At the same time, Serbia (+107.4%), Nigeria (+88.0%), Greece (+69.9%), France (+28.0%), Germany (+27.0%) and Italy (+14.3%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Serbia emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the world, with a CAGR of +107.4% from 2012-2021. By contrast, the UK (-12.9%), Indonesia (-14.6%) and Turkey (-48.1%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Germany (+14 p.p.), Nigeria (+9.5 p.p.), France (+3.6 p.p.), Serbia (+3.1 p.p.), Greece (+2.7 p.p.) and Italy (+1.9 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the global imports from 2012-2021, the share of the UK (-4.3 p.p.), Indonesia (-4.9 p.p.) and Turkey (-11.3 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Germany ($X), France ($X) and Belarus ($X) were the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2021, with a combined 19% share of total imports. Italy, Nigeria, Serbia, Greece, the UK, Indonesia and Turkey lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 14%.

In terms of the main importing countries, Serbia, with a CAGR of +109.4%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
