Potato Market Size in MERCOSUR

In 2023, the average yield of potatoes in MERCOSUR totaled X tons per ha, stabilizing at the previous year. The yield figure increased at an average annual rate of X% from 2012 to 2023; the trend pattern remained consistent, with only minor fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. In value terms, potato exports surged to $X in 2023. Over the period under review, exports, however, continue to indicate a moderate increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 when exports increased by X%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X. From 2017 to 2023, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.

Exports by Country

Argentina was the largest exporter of potatoes in MERCOSUR, with the volume of exports recording X tons, which was near X% of total exports in 2023. Brazil (X tons) ranks second in terms of the total exports with a X% share, followed by Peru (X%). Chile (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.
