Over the period under review, the yield recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 when the yield increased by X% against the previous year. Exports in Asia

In 2022, the amount of potatoes exported in Asia surged to X tons, rising by X% against the previous year's figure. Total exports indicated a strong increase from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of X% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by X% against 2020 indices. In 2022, Pakistan (X tons) represented the main exporter of potatoes, committing X% of total exports. From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to potato exports from Pakistan stood at X%. At the same time, Kazakhstan (X%), India (X%), Iran (X%), Bangladesh (X%), Azerbaijan (X%), Turkey (X%), China (X%) and Syrian Arab Republic (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Kazakhstan emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Asia, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2022. Kyrgyzstan and Cyprus experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Israel (X%) and Lebanon (X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2022, the share of Pakistan, India, Kazakhstan and Iran increased by X, X, X and X percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

Over the period under review, the export prices attained the peak figure at $X per ton in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Cyprus ($X per ton), while Kazakhstan ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by X% against 2015 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 when imports increased by X%. The volume of import peaked in 2022 and is likely to see steady growth in years to come.

In value terms, potato imports surged to $X in 2022. Total imports indicated strong growth from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of X% over the last decade.
