Exports by Country
Israel represented the major exporter of chlorides (excluding ammonium chloride) in MENA, with the volume of exports recording X tons, which was approx. X% of total exports in 2023. Egypt (X tons) ranks second in terms of the total exports with a X% share, followed by Jordan (X%), Iran (X%) and Turkey (X%). The following exporters - the United Arab Emirates (X tons) and Saudi Arabia (X tons) - each amounted to a X% share of total exports.
Exports from Israel increased at an average annual rate of X% from 2012 to 2023. At the same time, Egypt (X%), Saudi Arabia (X%), the United Arab Emirates (X%) and Turkey (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Egypt emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in MENA, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2023. By contrast, Iran (X%) and Jordan (X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2023, imports failed to regain momentum.

Saudi Arabia (X tons) and the United Arab Emirates (X tons) represented roughly X% of total imports in 2023. Turkey (X tons) took the next position in the ranking, followed by Oman (X tons) and Kuwait (X tons). All these countries together took near X% share of total imports. The following importers - Qatar (X tons) and Morocco (X tons) - each finished at a X% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2023, the biggest increases were recorded for Kuwait (with a CAGR of X%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest chlorides importing markets in MENA were Saudi Arabia ($X), the United Arab Emirates ($X) and Turkey ($X), together accounting for X% of total imports. Oman, Kuwait, Morocco and Qatar lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further X%.
