Serbia (X tons) was the main destination for cattle hide and skin exports from Greece, with a 41% share of total exports. Moreover, cattle hide and skin exports to Serbia exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Turkey (X tons), twofold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Italy (X tons), with a 19% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume to Serbia totaled -6.0%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Turkey (+8.0% per year) and Italy (+11.3% per year).

In 2021, supplies from abroad of raw hides and skins of cattle was finally on the rise to reach X tons after two years of decline. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a deep contraction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 when imports increased by 204%. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2015 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
