After two years of decline, the Europe octyl alcohol market increased by 5.4% to $X in 2022. The market value increased at an average annual rate of +4.8% over the period from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The level of consumption peaked at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, consumption remained at a lower figure.

At the same time, France (+102.6%) and the Netherlands (+20.3%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, France emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Europe, with a CAGR of +102.6% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Romania (-5.8%), Belgium (-16.6%) and Russia (-21.7%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when imports increased by 15% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2014 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, octyl alcohol imports dropped to $X in 2022. In general, imports showed a slight curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 60%. The level of import peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
