The level of export peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.
Exports by Country
The shipments of the two major exporters of video game consoles (not operated by means of payments), namely Russia and Belarus, represented more than two-thirds of total export.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main exporting countries, was attained by Belarus (with a CAGR of +55.5%).
In value terms, Russia ($X) remains the largest video game console supplier in the CIS, comprising 70% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Belarus ($X), with a 30% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Russia amounted to +13.8%.
Export Prices by Country
The export price in the CIS stood at $X per unit in 2022, dropping by -7.7% against the previous year. In general, the export price showed a deep reduction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 an increase of 18% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export prices reached the maximum at $X per unit in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Russia ($X per unit), while Belarus totaled $X per unit.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Belarus (+6.6%).

Imports in CIS
After five years of growth, purchases abroad of video game consoles (not operated by means of payments) decreased by -13.4% to X units in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, posted a tangible increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 when imports increased by 86%. The volume of import peaked at X units in 2021, and then reduced in the following year.
In value terms, video game console imports shrank to $X in 2022. Overall, imports saw a perceptible decrease. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 when imports increased by 111%. The level of import peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
Imports by Country
Russia prevails in imports structure, amounting to X units, which was approx. 84% of total imports in 2022. Belarus (X units) took a 6.6% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Kazakhstan (5.3%). Kyrgyzstan (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.
From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to video game console imports into Russia stood at +3.7%. At the same time, Kyrgyzstan (+141.7%) and Belarus (+31.4%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Kyrgyzstan emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the CIS, with a CAGR of +141.7% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Kazakhstan (-6.2%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2022, the share of Belarus and Kyrgyzstan increased by +6 and +2.6 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

The second position in the ranking was held by Kazakhstan ($X), with a 6.6% share of total imports. It was followed by Belarus, with a 4.8% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value in Russia totaled -3.9%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Kazakhstan (+4.6% per year) and Belarus (+25.7% per year).
Import Prices by Country
The import price in the CIS stood at $X per unit in 2022, surging by 8.3% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, recorded a abrupt decline. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when the import price increased by 13% against the previous year. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per unit. From 2018 to 2022, the import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Kazakhstan ($X per unit), while Kyrgyzstan ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Kazakhstan (+11.5%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the import price figures.
