Canned Mushroom Market Size in Chile

The Chilean canned mushroom market was finally on the rise to reach $X in 2020, after two years of decline. In general, consumption showed a remarkable increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 when the market value increased by X% against the previous year. In value terms, canned mushroom exports dropped modestly to $X in 2020. Over the period under review, exports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2008 with an increase of X% against the previous year. As a result, exports reached the peak of $X. From 2009 to 2020, the growth exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Exports by Country

Venezuela (X tonnes) was the main destination for canned mushroom exports from Chile, accounting for a X% share of total exports. Moreover, canned mushroom exports to Venezuela exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, China (X tonnes), ninefold.

From 2007 to 2020, the average annual growth rate of volume to Venezuela totaled +X%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: China (+X% per year) and the United Arab Emirates (+X% per year).

From 2007 to 2020, the average annual growth rate of value to Venezuela was relatively modest. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: the United Arab Emirates (+X% per year) and China (+X% per year).

The average canned mushroom export price stood at $X per tonne in 2020, remaining constant against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2008 an increase of X% against the previous year. As a result, export price attained the peak level of $X per tonne. From 2009 to 2020, the growth in terms of the average export prices failed to regain the momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination; the country with the highest price was the United Arab Emirates ($X per tonne), while the average price for exports to China ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.

From 2007 to 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to China, while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

Imports into Chile

After two years of decline, purchases abroad of canned mushrooms increased by X% to X tonnes in 2020. Overall, imports continue to indicate a buoyant expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2011 with an increase of X% year-to-year. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum in 2020 and are likely to see gradual growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, canned mushroom imports soared to $X in 2020. Over the period under review, imports showed a prominent expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2010 when imports increased by X% year-to-year. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum in 2020 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.
