By contrast, Saudi Arabia (-10.1%), Taiwan (Chinese) (-15.7%), Iran (-19.2%) and China (-24.2%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2021, the share of Japan, India and Saudi Arabia increased by +5.9, +3.7 and +3 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Japan ($X) remains the largest drawn glass and blown glass supplier in Asia, comprising 82% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by China ($X), with a 6.7% share of total exports. It was followed by Saudi Arabia, with a 4.5% share.

In Japan, drawn glass and blown glass exports shrank by an average annual rate of -16.4% over the period from 2012-2021. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: China (-4.1% per year) and Saudi Arabia (-5.9% per year).
