Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at $X in 2021; however, from 2022 to 2023, the exports failed to regain momentum.

China experienced a relatively flat trend pattern with regard to volume of exports of arsenic. China (X p.p.) significantly weakened its position in terms of the total exports, while the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, China ($X) also remains the largest arsenic supplier in Asia.

Export Prices by Country

In 2023, the export price in Asia amounted to $X per ton, picking up by X% against the previous year. In general, the export price showed buoyant growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 an increase of X%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per ton. From 2021 to 2023, the export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for China.

In value terms, arsenic imports reduced remarkably to $X in 2023. In general, imports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 with an increase of X%. The level of import peaked at $X in 2022, and then fell remarkably in the following year.

Imports by Country

India represented the main importer of arsenic in Asia, with the volume of imports reaching X tons, which was approx. X% of total imports in 2023. South Korea (X tons) ranks second in terms of the total imports with a X% share, followed by Indonesia (X%), Turkey (X%) and Pakistan (X%). The following importers - Bangladesh (X tons), Japan (X tons) and Thailand (X tons) - together made up X% of total imports.

India experienced a relatively flat trend pattern with regard to volume of imports of arsenic. At the same time, Bangladesh (X%), Turkey (X%) and Pakistan (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Bangladesh emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Asia, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2023. Indonesia and South Korea experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Japan (X%) and Thailand (X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Bangladesh (X p.p.), Turkey (X p.p.) and Pakistan (X p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Thailand and India saw its share reduced by X% and X% from 2012 to 2023, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, the largest arsenic importing markets in Asia were Japan ($X), India ($X) and South Korea ($X), with a combined X% share of total imports. Turkey, Indonesia, Pakistan, Thailand and Bangladesh lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further X%.

In terms of the main importing countries, Bangladesh, with a CAGR of X%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
